Gerber Products Co. was hit with high provisional anti-dumping duties in Canada after archrival Heinz Canada lodged a complaint. Canada’s tax agency said 85 varieties of Gerber baby foods in jars were marketed in Canada at prices averaging 69% less than should have been charged. Gerber had no immediate comment. . . . Crown Books Corp. appointed Anna Currence, 47, president and chief operating officer of the Landover, Md.-based company, which lost $32.5 million in the first three quarters of the year.
