El Camino Real Girls Win Ugly in Van Nuys Tournament

It wasn’t pretty, but El Camino Real High Coach Lori Chandler will settle for a 60-51 victory over Fremont in the first round of the Van Nuys girls’ basketball tournament Monday night.
“We didn’t play very well,” Chandler said. “We made too many turnovers and we had poor execution.”
El Camino Real (4-0) was sparked by the outside shooting of guard Cara Blumfield, who finished with 20 points and seven steals, and the inside play of freshman center Karen Shun, who had 18 points and 10 rebounds.
