Chapman Men Win in Double Overtime

Gil Gonzales scored 35 points as Chapman defeated Colorado College, 110-100, in double overtime during the first round of the Redlands men’s basketball tournament Thursday at Redlands.
Gonzales was 11 of 19 from the field, including five of 10 from beyond the three-point line, for the Panthers, who will play Redlands in the semifinals at 8 tonight.
In swimming:
Kyzierowski finishes second--Former Mission Viejo High swimmer Bart Kyzierowski took second in the 50-yard freestyle to help California finish first in overall scoring in the first day of the UC Irvine Speedo Cup at Belmont Plaza Pool.
Kyzierowski finished .08 seconds behind teammate Dan Lindstrom.
