MiniMed Plans to Buy Distributor in Sweden

MiniMed Inc. said it has reached agreement to buy its long-time distributor in Sweden to help expand its business in Europe.

MiniMed plans to purchase Dartec AB, and set up a subsidiary in Sweden to serve as its distribution channel in Scandinavia and to various Baltic countries. The purchase price was not disclosed.

MiniMed, based in Sylmar, is a maker of advanced infusion systems used to treat various medical conditions, including diabetes.
