* Robert A. Wilson has been named senior vice president of CKE Restaurants Inc. in Anaheim. His responsibilities include overseeing the legal and risk management departments, as well as acting as general counsel for CKE’s subsidiaries: Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc., Casa Bonita Inc. and Summit Family Restaurants Inc. In addition, Wilson will also assume responsibility for managing Hardee’s Food Systems Inc.’s litigation west of the Mississippi. Before joining CKE as vice president, general counsel in 1996, Wilson was senior litigation counsel with Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. in Irvine. Prior to that, he was with the law firm of Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth for seven years.

* Larry Levinsohn has joined AST Research Inc. in Irvine as vice president, worldwide human resources, a newly created position. He will be responsible for the company’s global employment, compensation, benefits and training activities. Levinsohn was previously vice president, human resources, at Murad Inc., an El Segundo-based manufacturer of specialty skin care products. He also spent two years at Packard Bell Electronics.

* Larry Laurich has been named senior vice president and chief operations officer for NexGen SI Inc. in Irvine. Laurich, who most recently served as a senior technology executive at Tandem Computers Inc., will oversee strategic applications and technology operations at NexGen SI.

* C.J. D’Angelo has been appointed corporate vice president of Intermark Corp. in Newport Beach, a distributor of personal computer software and add-on products. D’Angelo was formerly vice president of world-wide sales for Touchstone Software Corp. in Huntington Beach. He was also vice president of Zenographics Inc. in Irvine and director of channel sales for ParcPlace/Digitalk Inc. in Santa Ana.

* Daniel Bertram has been appointed to the newly created position of director, sales and marketing for the industrial/medical division of Unit Instruments Inc. in Yorba Linda. He had been vice president of sales and customer support for Staefa Control System in San Diego.

* Gerard Varni has joined the Schraff Group in Newport Beach as creative director. He previously held senior copywriter positions with Shafer Advertising in Irvine and McCann Erickson in Los Angeles.

* Kim D. Blickenstaff has been elected a director of Micro Therapeutics Inc., increasing the size of the board to five members. Blickenstaff is president, chief executive and co-founder of Biosite Diagnostics Inc. Micro Therapeutics in San Clemente develops and makes medical devices for the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease.

* David George has been appointed to the executive committee of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a financial consultant in the Newport Beach office of Merrill Lynch, Private Client Group.

* Vic Savino has been elected to the board of directors of the California Funeral Directors Assn. He is vice president of Fairhaven Memorial Park and Mortuary in Santa Ana.

* Frederick McKay has been named controller of Techmedia, a Garden Grove manufacturer of computer systems, computer monitors, and peripherals. In addition, Charles Earnhart has been appointed vice president, operations. McKay was previously controller for Melmarc Products Inc., a screen printing contractor in Santa Ana, and before that, controller for Wiz Technologies Inc. in San Juan Capistrano. Earnhart formerly held several positions at Conner Peripherals in Costa Mesa, most recently serving as vice president of tape drive operations.

* Dan C. Matthews has joined Western Air Systems & Controls Inc. as sales manager for Southern California and Southern Nevada. He will be located in Anaheim.

* Bruce Bearer has been selected senior vice president of development for Sares-Regis’ commercial property group in Irvine. He joined the company in 1993 after serving as vice president of development and operations for Nexus Development.

* Michael Chacon has been elected to the national board of directors for the Information Technology Training Assn., a professional organization for the technical training industry. He is chief technical officer for Ascolta Training Co. in Irvine.
