Opportunities for Volunteering
The San Fernando Department of Recreation and Community Services is looking for adult volunteers to serve as instructors or coaches for its flag football, basketball and roller hockey youth sports programs.
Volunteers will spend a minimum of two hours per week helping children develop fundamental sports skills, self-esteem and sportsmanship.
Coaches must commit to weekly practice sessions and games for the entire season. Children of volunteer coaches and instructors may participate for free. For more information, call Recreation Supervisor Gwen Indermill at (818) 898-1290.
Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center is currently recruiting volunteers age 18 and older to work in its Next to New Thrift Shop. No experience is required, however, applicants must have superior customer service skills and be motivated to promote sales in the shop.
