Opponent--Atlanta Ruckus

Site--Santa Ana Stadium

Time--7:30

Records--Ruckus 9-11; Zodiac 7-13.

Ruckus update--Atlanta is in last place in the Central Division, but the Ruckus has won three games in a row, including two against the second-place Orlando SunDogs. In the only meeting of the teams, the Ruckus beat the Zodiac, 4-2, in Atlanta on July 4. Jacenir Silva and Mo Suri lead the Ruckus in goals with five.

Zodiac update--The Zodiac has shown signs of improvement but will have to weather some major losses, especially to its defense. First starting sweeper Kevin Grimes left to start his job as an assistant coach at Southern Methodist. Then Jose Vasquez, who took over for Grimes, decided to accept an offer to move up to the Galaxy and Al Partida, expected to take over as sweeper, broke his leg in a 1-0 loss to the California Jaguars Sunday. Gerardo Arana has left to try to latch on with Chivas of the Mexican first division and John Bovetas was released. The team hopes the addition of midfielder Art Teblador will ease some of the sting.
