Wal-Mart Project’s Final Plans Filed

Developers of a proposed Wal-Mart store have filed their final plans with the city, moving the project near the end of a two-year application process and close to the start of construction.
Approval of the plans and a final development permit would allow construction to begin as early as October.
After city planners examine the application it will be passed to commissioners for a technical review, which addresses such issues as compliance with landscaping and architectural standards previously established for the area. A public hearing will follow the technical review, concluding the 60- to 140-day process.
The complex is planned for a site southeast of Madera Road and the Ronald Reagan Freeway. It would be anchored by a 135,000-square-foot Wal-Mart store and other commercial uses.
