** 1/2 Daft Punk, “Homework,”Virgin. This duo is the leader in a new school of French dance music that also includes artists such as Laurent Garnier and Dmitry and is sweeping Europe. Daft Punk’s debut album contains intriguing elements of minimal, electronic house beats paired with an almost G-funk melodic kick. The formula is interesting, but the group could definitely bust out of the album’s school of sameness.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
