Plans for St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Elementary School have won approval from the city’s Planning Commission.
The Department of Catholic Schools will build the campus for preschool through eighth grade at Esperanza Road and Eastside Circle.
The school is expected to open in September 1998, said Patricia Haley, the city’s community development director. It will be designed to resemble a Spanish mission, officials said.
The new school is the Department of Catholic Schools’ 44th campus in Orange County, Supt. William Carriere said. The department is part of the Catholic Diocese of Orange County.
