Joining in on the fun tonight at Goldfingers for the official unveiling of Pussy Galore’s Patio (see Club Hoppin’ below) will be Fred Wilson, FBI--a trio specializing in “hard-boiled crime, instrumental spy” music. Apparently, these guys don’t mess around--they bring their own cityscape as a stage prop, along with TV monitors from the ‘60s.

The group will be playing a run of Thursdays, and these nights of espionage are free. “That’s our Goldfingers theme night, and we think everybody should get a break,” says Sara Kennedy, the Hollywood nightclub’s co-owner. The refurbished patio also includes a replica of the Bond girl’s black panther, and a brand-new bar, which during the summer will be serving Pimms, a British summertime cocktail. . . .

With Toledo holding court at the Garage in Silver Lake on Fridays, his former Friday night gigging spot at Checca in Hollywood moved its Monday night electronica club, Mental, over to Fridays, and apparently it’s doing mighty fine. . . .

For hard-core fans of the notorious hard-core band the Dwarves, you don’t have to wait until Saturday’s Moguls’ show in Hollywood. The Clipper in Long Beach has booked the band for tonight, and it’s an all-star lineup: Holland’s Funeral Oration opens the show, which kicks off early at 8 p.m., and will be followed by Mercury 9, FYP and Damnation. . . .

Finally, if you haven’t dropped in on Sunday night’s Science yet at the Pink in Santa Monica, you’re missing out. The drum ‘n’ bass club is one of L.A.’s finest and this weekend some of the Southland’s finest “junglists” will be waxing poetic.
