Get a Clue and Enjoy a Night of Mysterious Circumstances
Picture this: You’re dressed in your best, wining and dining at a swank museum soiree.
Suddenly, priceless historical artifacts are not in their usual places. A heist has occurred. And you, of all people, are among the suspects.
That’s the scenario set for June 7 at the California African-American Museum’s “Evening of Mystery.†It’s a cocktail and dinner event that is also a play, scripted by noted mystery writer Gary Phillips, using guests as detectives who try to discover which of them has actually done the awful deed.
The CAAM evening will also feature other mystery writers as hosts at the tables, and as panelists at a noon discussion of the African American mystery genre. Panelists include Phillips, Aya de Leon, Terris McMahan Grimes, Robert Greer and Paula Woods.
The panel discussion is free. The dinner event is $75. For more information, call (213) 744-7432.
