Jacobs Engineering Gets Cleanup Contract
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. said it received a contract valued at as much as $131.1 million to continue cleaning up contaminated ground water for the Air Force on Cape Cod, Mass. The company said the agreement with the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence is part of the Groundwater Plume Response Program the company began last year. Under the contract, Pasadena-based Jacobs said it will contain and treat contaminated ground water and prevent it from moving toward other water sources, as well as support any future cleanup that might be required at the Massachusetts Military Reservation on Cape Cod. The construction and engineering company had revenue of about $1.8 billion in fiscal 1996. Jacobs Engineering shares rose 12.5 cents to close at $26 on the NYSE.
