Navy officials are hosting a public meeting Thursday to discuss issues ranging from the Port Hueneme Navy base layoffs to the relocation of the E-2C radar planes to the Naval Air Weapons Station at Point Mugu.
The meeting, which begins at 8 a.m., will be held at the Port Hueneme City Hall Chambers at 250 N. Ventura Road.
Cmdr. Mack Hardaway will provide updates on the F/A-18 E/F strike fighters, expected to go to Lemoore Naval Air Station, and the E-2C wing that is now expected to come to the Point Mugu Navy base.
Capt. Daniel Hambrock will give an update on layoffs set to begin by the end of the month.
More than 100 civilian workers are expected to receive formal layoff notices in the coming weeks.
In addition, Hambrock will give information on the upcoming Seabee Days set for July 12 and 13, an annual event open to the public at the base.
