Litton Awarded Equipment Contract for 12 Destroyers

The U.S. Navy has awarded Litton Industries a $164.7-million contract for the first stage of equipment procurement to be used in the future construction of 12 Navy destroyers.
The ships are to be built over a four-year period through the year 2001.
This equipment contract is to cover engines, generators, air conditioners and other items.
Litton, headquartered in Woodland Hills, is a diversified defense contractor.
