Boy, 4, Struck By Car Is Critically Injured

VENTURA — An unidentified 4-year-old boy remained in critical condition in Ventura County Medical Center on Thursday evening with abdominal injuries after he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle on an East Ventura sidewalk in the afternoon, authorities said.
The driver of the car told authorities he felt a slight impact as he crossed a sidewalk while emerging from an alley onto Peacock Avenue, police said. He stopped and found the child and bicycle lying on the sidewalk near the car.
Police did not release the boy’s name.
