Thomas Bros. Settles
IRVINE — Thomas Bros. Maps said it has settled a copyright case against Etak Inc. in Menlo Park after a search of Etak’s databases found no infringement on Thomas Bros.’ intellectual property rights. No damages were paid.
However, the Irvine map maker’s federal lawsuit against a second defendant, G.M. Johnson & Associates Ltd., remains pending in U.S. District Court in San Francisco. Thomas Bros. asserts that Johnson violated its copyright in publishing map books for four areas: Sacramento, San Jose, Seattle and Portland, Ore.
