Business Conference to Target Political Issues
Merchants, managers and entrepreneurs looking for insights into political issues affecting businesses can take their questions straight to local and state legislators during an upcoming conference.
The Ventura County Business and Legislative Alliance conference, scheduled April 11 at Simi Valley’s Radisson Hotel, will give members of the local business committee a chance to talk with state Sen. Cathie Wright and Assemblymen Tom McClintock (R-Northridge) and Nao Takasugi (R-Oxnard) as well as three Ventura County supervisors.
In a series of talks throughout the morning, those attending will discuss a variety of issues, including California’s overtime law, welfare reform and ways that small-business owners can participate in the legislative process.
The conference is free, but reservations must be made in advance. To register, call the local Chamber of Commerce or call 522-2920.
