5 Cultists Commit Suicide, Police Say

Five followers of the Order of the Solar Temple died after rigged propane tanks caught fire, in the latest group suicide linked to the cult, police said. Papers found in the house in St. Casimir, about 40 miles southwest of Quebec City, showed that the victims had intended to die, police said. The fire brings to 74 the number of murder-suicides by the cult’s followers in Europe and Canada in less than three years.
