Man Held in Beating; 2nd Man Sought
OXNARD — One man was arrested and another remained at large in connection with the beating of a man Sunday in Oxnard.
Oxnard Police Officer Mike Young said he was on patrol on Wooley Road near Saviers Road about 1:15 a.m. when he saw two men kicking and beating a man using a two-foot stick. He ordered the assailants to stop, and both ran, Young said.
He caught one of the suspects, 18-year-old Carlos Alberto Sierra of Oxnard, after Sierra jumped into a car that was stopped at a nearby intersection, officials said.
Sierra was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Young said.
Police were searching for the second suspect Sunday night.
Authorities did not identify the victim. They said he suffered numerous bruises and abrasions.
