Disney Dog Acts Dumb in Key Pirates Role
Looks like Disneyland should dispense with the stupid pet tricks.
As part of the March 7 reopening ceremonies for the newly rehabbed Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, Disney brass arranged for a live dog to bring the official “keys” to Disneyland Resort President Paul Pressler.
The stunt was intended as a takeoff on one of the attraction’s most famous scenes, in which jailed pirates try to coax the cell keys from the jaws of an audio-animatronic mutt sitting just outside the bars.
Unfortunately, Pressler wasn’t any more successful than the doomed brigands. When his big moment came, the dog got so excited that it bumped into a bystander, dropped the keys, and went bounding over the dais with a perplexed look on its empty muzzle.
Where’s Lassie when you need her?
