Playa del Rey St. Bernard 58, Burbank Bell-Jeff 43--Teri Holmes scored eight points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Tonda Williams had seven points and 10 rebounds to lead St. Bernard in a Division IV regional championship game at the Pond.
The Vikings (25-6) outrebounded Bell-Jeff, 46-31. They scored 14 second-chance points on 19 offensive rebounds. Nicole Monette had 15 points.
The Guards (31-2), led by Jaclyn Johnson’s 16 points and 12 rebounds, rallied to tie the score twice in the third quarter and pulled to within a point two other times. But they succumbed to 27 turnovers and shot only 30.6% from the field.
