Saddleback 14, Fullerton 7--Greg Workman worked five innings in relief and struck out nine as Saddleback defeated Fullerton (12-6, 0-3). Workman is now 3-0.

Greg Ferrell was three for four with three RBIs for the Gauchos (15-0, 3-0).

Saddleback scored seven runs in the second inning and six runs in the fourth inning. Kirk Bolling hit a two-run home run in the fourth, his sixth of the year.

Rancho Santiago’s game at Riverside was postponed until 2 p.m. today because of wet grounds.

In Orange Empire Conference softball:

Fullerton 10, Saddleback 2 (5 innings, mercy rule)--Lynette Velazquez had four hits, including three doubles, and drove in four runs for host Fullerton (9-5, 2-0).

In nonconference golf:

El Camino 369, Cerritos 369, Orange Coast 371 (El Camino wins on sixth man)--Dan Orris shot a one-over-par 71 for Orange Coast (10-6) at Costa Mesa Mesa Linda. Cerritos’ Sam Vance was the medalist with a score of 69.
