Lindros Leads Flyers Past Panthers

Eric Lindros set up two goals and then scored the game-winner in overtime as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Florida Panthers, 4-3, Saturday at Miami.
Lindros scored with 57.6 seconds to play in overtime on a deflection of Eric Desjardins’ wrist shot.
The Flyers extended their first-place lead in the Atlantic Division over Florida and New Jersey to seven points.
Tampa Bay 3, New Jersey 1--The Devils’ 13-game unbeaten streak came to an end as Chris Gratton had a goal and an assist to lead the Lightning at Tampa.
Gratton scored the game-winner at 11:15 of the second period.
Chicago 5, Pittsburgh 2--Chicago goaltender Jeff Hackett gave up only two goals by Mario Lemieux and the Blackhawks continued to excel on the road.
Lemieux scored his 42nd and 43rd goals of the season, both in the second period, to move past former Blackhawk star Stan Mikita into sixth place on the NHL scoring list with 1,468 points.
Chicago has a better record on the road (14-12-5) than at the United Center (11-16-3).
Detroit 2, St. Louis 2--Pierre Turgeon scored a power-play goal with 2:09 to play as the Blues rallied with two goals in the final 10 minutes to earn the tie at St. Louis.
Hartford 2, Washington 0--Sami Kapanen scored the game’s only goals and Sean Burke got his first shutout since the opener in the Whalers’ victory at Hartford, Conn.
Toronto 5, Montreal 1--Darby Hendrickson, Mats Sundin and Kirk Muller scored first-period goals and the Maple Leafs won handily at Montreal.
The victory ended Toronto’s five-game losing streak against the Canadiens, dating to Jan. 9, 1993.
