Ventura County Crime Stoppers is offering $2,000 in rewards to help find the people responsible for a break-in at a school and a series of auto burglaries in Port Hueneme.
Since Jan. 1, 25 cars have been broken into near the south end of Richard Bard Bubbling Springs Park, with a large amount of property taken, according to Port Hueneme Police Sgt. Ken Dobbe.
In the other case, someone broke into a room at Bard Elementary School, 622 Pleasant Valley Road, making off with about $2,000 worth of computer and electronic equipment.
Dobbe said the burglary took place between Dec. 19 and 24, and the items taken included a 19-inch color TV, videocassette recorder and a Macintosh computer.
Crime Stoppers, a group that helps gather tips for police departments in the county, is offering two rewards of up to $1,000 each to anyone with information that leads to a criminal complaint being filed in the cases.
Those with information are asked to call 385-TALK. Callers may remain anonymous.
