Page 8 Not High Enough for Subscribers of Troy
Congratulations. Your bias for UCLA is again apparent in February’s first Sunday paper.
Oh, yes, there is a two-line blurb about USC basketball on the front page, but again I have to wade to Page 8 to find out the details of the USC-Oregon game. UCLA gets a front-page story and two pictures, even though it had lost one game and won one [on its trip to Oregon]. USC wins two games and you bury it again.
Maybe you should change the name of your paper to the Westside Bruin or the Teddy Bear Tabloid, or even the Bruin Bugle.

Darn! Those Bruins beat Oregon State [Saturday] night. Here it is, right on the front page of The Times’ sports section. With a nice color photo.
Wonder if my Trojans played. Let me see . . . gotta flip through . . . oh, here it is. On Page 8.
Holy cow! They upset Oregon, by 10 points! Didn’t the Ducks beat UCLA on Thursday night?
Page 8, huh? Hmmmmmm.
