King update--Ray Ferraro and Kai Nurminen scored first-period goals but the Kings were not able to hold off Chicago in a 3-2 defeat on Saturday at the Forum. The Kings will begin a four-game trip tonight and have not won away from home since the All-Star break. Ferraro leads the team with 18 goals, and Dimitri Khristich is tops with 40 points. Defenseman Rob Blake has struggled since returning from a hand injury and was criticized by Coach Larry Robinson after two costly turnovers against Chicago.
Flame update--Aaron Gavey scored two power-play goals to lead the Flames to a 3-0 victory over Vancouver on Saturday. Goalie Trevor Kidd had 31 saves in recording the shutout for the Flames, who are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games. Theoren Fleury leads the team with 21 goals.
