Green Family

* Re “An Eye for an Eye . . .,” by Peter King, Jan. 26: Perhaps Fred Goldman and Marc Klaas could learn something about dignity and restraint by observing how the Green family coped with the loss of their son Nicholas. All three families have had a child murdered.
Instead of a public display of anger and revenge, the Green family chose to show compassion, not only with the donation of their son’s organs in the country in which he was killed, but more amazingly showed forgiveness to the defendants at the trial (“2 Acquitted in Italy in ’94 Shooting Death of U.S. Boy, 7,” Jan. 17).
