Ohio State’s Jermaine Tate has a weakened heart muscle and was advised to withdraw from basketball. . . Cincinnati Coach Bob Huggins benched All-American Danny Fortson and Ruben Patterson for one game, saying he was unhappy with their effort. . . . The NCAA upheld its suspension of two Connecticut players, ending Kirk King’s career at the school. Sophomore Ricky Moore was suspended for five games. . . . Memphis Coach Larry Finch agreed to take $413,660 to resign at the end of the season.
