Arts Center Hosting Landscape Symposium

Irvine Fine Arts Center will host “Symposium on the State of Contemporary Landscape Painting” from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today.
The symposium will feature nine speakers who will discuss contemporary landscape painting from many art world perspectives.
They are Hank Pitcher, lecturer at UC Santa Barbara’s College of Creative Studies; Dorrit Rawlins, curator of exhibitions at Irvine Fine Arts Center; Jaime Villaneda, gallery programs coordinator at Pasadena Armory Center for the Arts; and Tina Yapelli, director of San Diego State University’s Art Gallery.
Also speaking will be Collette Chattopadhyay, art critic for Artweek and Asian Art News; Eleana Del Rio, associate director of Koplin Gallery in Los Angeles; Kate Johnson, art historian at Fullerton College; and artists Roberta Eisenberg and Gail Roberts.
Cost of the symposium is $18 for members and $20 for nonmembers.
The center is at 14321 Yale Ave. in Heritage Park.
