Gerald Rhoden, a guard on the Cal State Northridge men’s basketball team, has been selected Big Sky Conference player of the week, the first Matador so honored. Rhoden scored a career-high 31 points in Northridge’s 90-81 victory over Weber State last Thursday and 13 in a victory over Sacramento State the previous night.

Elizabeth Hansell of The Master’s College has been selected NAIA Southwest Region women’s basketball player of the week.
The 5-foot-10 sophomore forward averaged 19.7 points on 63.2% shooting, 10.3 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 3.3 assists to help the Mustangs (11-8) to a 2-1 record last week.
