City Fire Department to Honor Year’s Best
During its annual awards ceremony Monday, the Ventura City Fire Department will hand out honors for top firefighter, dispatcher and inspection services employee for 1996.
The awards ceremony will be held at the City Hall atrium at 6 p.m., just before the City Council meeting, said Lenora Viveros, an administrative secretary with the department.
“These are awards for those that have gone above and beyond their duty,” she said. “We recognize those that put in the extra hours beyond their regular jobs.”
Along with top city Fire Department officials, Supervisor Susan Lacey and Mayor Jack Tingstrom will be on hand as the awards are handed out, Viveros said.
