Lutherans Schedule Awards Breakfast

The third annual “Lutherans Looking Forward� breakfast, sponsored by Lutheran Social Services of Southern California, will be held Saturday at the Woodland Hills Country Club.

Invitations have been sent to Lutheran churches in the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys, and 300 people are expected to attend the free event, said Jerome Nilssen, area director of the sponsoring organization.

Peter Digre, director of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, will be the guest speaker. Digre is also scheduled to receive the agency’s Impact Award, given to a Lutheran layperson who has made a significant contribution to public policy and social development in the county.

In addition, the Lutheran of the Year and Lutheran Congregation of the Year awards will be presented at the breakfast. The country club is at 21150 Dumetz Road in Woodland Hills.
