War Crimes Court
I appreciated your Jan. 1 editorial, “An Excessive Wait for Justice,†very much. The world needs an international criminal court that has jurisdiction over individuals and is backed by a body of sound international law that can try demagogues who seek power by setting one ethnic group against another, and also people and organizations who subvert the democratically elected governments of other countries for their own gain.
I find it hard to believe that our president would back the establishment of a truly effective international criminal court which is not under the thumb of the Security Council, because there are powerful groups in this country that have been interfering and getting our government to interfere in governments south of our border since we became a nation. Our own CIA would probably become a target of this court.
