Man Slain in Fight at Mall
An argument escalated into gunfire that killed a 21-year-old man at a Van Nuys strip mall Monday night, police said Tuesday.
Oscar Alvarado, 21, was with companions at the shopping center in the 13300 block of Victory Boulevard about 9 p.m. when he was approached by a group of people, Los Angeles Police Det. Peggy Moseley said.
After an argument, Alvarado was shot, Moseley said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, she said.
