A Times Orange County first-team selection last season, Deere won all five of his matches at the El Toro Christmas Invitational and was named the tournament’s top wrestler in the upper weights. Deere, the county’s top-ranked heavyweight with a record of 8-1, has been on a roll, recording an impressive second-place finish at the Silverado Invitational this month in Las Vegas. At El Toro, Deere had one technical fall and two major decisions.

* Bolsa Grande, Junior. Scored 42 points, 24 in the second half, and helped his team rally for a victory in pool play of the Santa Barbara Tournament.

Soccer

Erik Van de Zilver

* Orange Lutheran, Senior. Van de Zilver’s goal and assist against Rim of the World helped his team win the consolation championship of the Ontario Christian Tournament.

Wrestling

Nathan Anaya

* Magnolia, Senior. Ranked third in the county at 130 pounds, Anaya won all of his matches at the El Toro Christmas Invitational to help his team win the title.
