Master Chorale to Hold Auditions
The Los Robles Master Chorale will hold auditions on the next two Saturdays for singers wishing to join the group for the remainder of its 1996-97 season.
For the audition, singers should prepare a vocal solo, preferably classical. An accompanist will be available at the auditions. Judges will be looking for vocal quality, intonation, sight reading ability and choral singing experience.
“We are looking for clear, clean sound quality that blends and balances well with others,†said Brenda Miller, a member of the Moorpark-based choir. The 100-voice choir is looking mainly for tenors and sopranos, Miller said.
The choir’s repertoire for the remainder of the season includes a wide range of modern and traditional choral literature including Dvorak’s Mass in D.
Members of the choir will also go on a two-week European concert tour in late June that will include performances in Prague, Leipzig, Strasbourg and in Notre Dame cathedral in Paris.
The auditions are by appointment only and will be held in the Music Building at Moorpark College on Jan. 4 and 11. To schedule an audition and for more information on the choir and its European tour, call Miller at 581-9936.
