King update--For most of the season, forward Dimitri Khristich has led the team in scoring but he has only one goal and three points in his last nine games. Since Nov. 18, Khristich has three goals and nine points in 18 games. In his last two games, left wing Kai Nurminen has a goal and two assists. Goaltender Byron Dafoe made 33 saves and came within five seconds of a shutout in the Kings’ 5-1 victory at Edmonton on Nov. 27.
Oiler update--Despite struggling the last two weeks to a 2-5-3 mark over a 10-game stretch, the Oilers held second place in the Pacific Division with a 5-3 victory over San Jose on Saturday. Edmonton has only three wins in its last 10 home games. Right wing Andrei Kovalenko leads the team with 19 goals and 34 points.
