Re “U.S. Officials Issue Prop. 215 Warning,” Dec. 13: Retired Gen. Barry McCaffrey’s not-so-veiled threat to withhold services from the citizens of California and Arizona if they don’t do as he wishes should put everyone on notice. This man has no place in civilian government. Perhaps he should ponder the possibility of the taxpayers withholding funds from this jobs program, commonly referred to as the war on drugs, until we see that we are getting something for our money.
