In an effort to cut down on injuries, including a recent spate of concussions, Commissioner Gary Bettman said the league is studying helmet design.
“At last check, 80% of the players were wearing certified helmets. This is a player-safety issue,” Bettman said after the league’s Board of Governors ended its two-day meeting in Scottsdale, Ariz.
