Rancho Santiago’s Tape Scores 22 to Help Beat Citrus
Lohnnie Tape scored a game-high 22 points to lead Rancho Santiago to a 70-59 victory over Citrus in the opening round of the Citrus men’s basketball tournament.
The Dons led at the half, 27-25, but outscored Citrus, 43-34, in the second half to seal the victory.
Mark Saukkola had 13 points for Rancho Santiago (3-1).
In nonconference men’s basketball:
East Los Angeles 73, Fullerton 66--Sterling Rachal collected 12 rebounds and scored 20 points in the Hornets’ loss. Ty-Juan Berry led Fullerton’s scoring with 23 points.
In first round of the Lady Charger Classic:
Cypress 80, Mt. San Jacinto 58--Linda Rodriguez led the Chargers with 27 points, including seven three-pointers.
