Sabres’ LaFontaine Out Three Months

Buffalo Sabres’ center Pat LaFontaine is experiencing “serious” post-trauma effects from a concussion suffered in an Oct. 17 game against the Pittsburgh Penguins and will sit out another three months, the team said. He has suffered five concussions in his 13-year career.

Edmonton Oiler defenseman Donald Dufresne will return from a right knee injury for today’s game against the Calgary Flames, the team said. In addition, the Oilers assigned center Jesse Belanger to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate in Hamilton, Ontario.
