The Angels released right-handed pitcher Phil Leftwich, who was 0-1 in two starts last season. Leftwich also was 6-6 in 19 starts at triple-A Vancouver before being sent to double-A Midland. He was 4-2 in six starts at Midland.
New York Met catcher Todd Hundley, who set a major league record for catchers with 41 home runs, underwent surgery to remove bone spurs from his left wrist.
