National Realty Grows

MISSION VIEJO — National Realty Trust, which owns and operates more than 300 residential real estate offices throughout the nation under various franchise names, said it has agreed to purchase Kahn Realty Cos., a seven-office, 325-broker real estate company in the Chicago area.
Kahn will become a Coldwell Banker franchise called Coldwell Banker/Kahn. This is the third acquisition announced by National Realty in the past 30 days. The company also has agreed to purchase Burgdorff Realtors of New Jersey, an ERA Franchise Systems Inc. unit, and Neal & Neal Realtors, which will become part of its Coldwell Baker Residential Brokerage franchise.
National Realty’s goal is to acquire small independent brokerages and operate them as franchises of Century 21 Real Estate Corp. ERA, or Coldwell Banker, all subsidiaries of conglomerate HFS Inc.
