No. 3 Esperanza (8-1, 4-0) vs. Fountain Valley (6-3, 3-1)
7:30 P.M. FRIDAY HUNTINGTON BEACH HIGH SCHOOL
An Esperanza victory would give the Aztecs their second consecutive undefeated league season. Esperanza, which is giving up 11.8 points a game in league play, has won eight in a row after a season-opening 24-20 loss to Servite. An upset by Fountain Valley would give the Barons a share of the league title, something they haven’t had since 1988. Fountain Valley, which averages 36 points in league play, last won a Southern Section division title in 1988. Medley will be called on to have a big game at linebacker as well as running back. Fountain Valley’s only league loss was to Los Alamitos, 31-21.
