Promises Keep Coming, and so Do the Losses

USC football season begins, John Robinson says: We are ready to compete with the elite for the national championship. Loss to Penn State.
John Robinson says: We are going to the Rose Bowl, where USC belongs. Losses to California and Arizona State.
John Robinson says: We are going to win the rest of our games, go 10-3 and win a major bowl game. Loss to Washington.
John Robinson’s next statement: We will beat Notre Dame and UCLA and have a great season.
We’ll see.

After watching the game between USC and Washington, three questions came to mind.
1. Was all the preseason hype just to sell tickets? If all the sports prognosticators were right, USC should have been unbeatable, not unbearable.
2. Why are true freshmen playing on the line? Did John Robinson think he had players under contract?
3. With all this “wait till next year” talk, could we see next year’s quarterback now?
