Moorpark Wins on a Forfeit

Moorpark College was awarded a forfeit victory over Compton in a Western State Conference Southern Division football game scheduled for Saturday because the Tartars didn’t have enough players.
Compton decided Friday to forfeit its homecoming game because the Tartars had only 14 healthy players on their roster.
“They called [Friday] morning and said they were thinking about forfeiting,” Moorpark Athletic Director John Keever said.
“I tried to convince them not to, but [Compton Athletic Director Rudy Washington] called back later and said that was what they were going to do.”
Moorpark (6-1, 3-0 in the WSC Southern Division) plays at Harbor next Saturday.
Compton (0-7, 0-3) was outscored, 259-33, in its first six games.
