High School Performing Arts
Every Saturday, The Times prints at least two to three pages on high school sports. I think it’s great that you recognize these young athletes, but I believe all students should be recognized for their accomplishments.
In my case, this applies to the performing arts department. At Birmingham High School I, along with many other hard-working students, stay at school many nights out of the week until 9 p.m. working on our play. I think it would be commendable for The Times to have a section about high school performing arts, along with the high school sports section. Not only would this be a way for us to share with the community what we are doing, but it would also give schools added publicity for performances. At Birmingham there are more students involved in performing arts than there are on the varsity football team.
