Ventura 43, Santa Monica 29--Running back Elihu Vann rushed for 190 yards in 39 carries and scored three touchdowns, on runs of 18, 50 and 16 yards, for the visiting Pirates (3-2, 1-0) in a WSC game at Santa Monica.
Quarterback Kyle Schommer completed 16 of 37 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Eric Blair caught two touchdown passes, covering 51 and 35 yards, as Ventura amassed 436 total yards.
Santa Monica (3-3, 2-1) had eight turnovers, including five fumbled center-quarterback exchanges. Defensive back Jason Ybarra had three interceptions.
