Sylmar 40, Poly 0--With quarterback Chris Cervantes sidelined after undergoing an aneurysm examination, Donald Carpenter picked up the slack for the Spartans (4-2, 3-0) by rushing for five touchdowns at Poly. Carpenter finished with 86 yards in 11 carries.
Sylmar limited the Parrots (0-6, 0-3) to minus-12 yards, recording seven sacks. The Spartans recovered four fumbles and had one interception.
Errol Bowen finished the scoring on a five-yard touchdown run. Cervantes is expected to start next week.
